Surgical Services

Alpine Animal Hospital provides a large number of surgical services ranging from routine spays and neuters, as well as highly advanced, specialized procedures. Our caring and compassionate team will monitor your pet before, during and after surgery and take exceptional care to ensure your pet's safety and complete recovery. We take our anesthetic procedures very seriously and utilize a safe, broad-spectrum approach to each animal we treat. We offer a combination of pre-operative assessments, modern anesthetic agents and quality anesthetic monitoring equipment to keep your pet safe and the risks of surgery low.
Spays and Neuters
Spaying or neutering your pet is an important decision for pet owners and an important part of the health of your pet. Removal of the male or female reproductive organs prevents unwanted pregnancies and reproductive cancers from threatening your pet's life. Spaying and neutering is offered as part of your pet's preventative wellness care.

Soft Tissue Surgery
Our veterinarians are experienced in a wide variety of soft
tissue surgeries, most commonly being the spay, neuter
and mass removal. Other examples of soft tissue surgeries
that we can provide are foreign body removal, laceration
and wound repair, eye surgeries, mastectomy, splenectomy
 and other specialized surgeries.

Mass Removal
Although masses are most common in older pets, all tumerous growths should be evaluated by your veterinarian. Your pet's doctor will evaluate the mass and use diagnostic processes to determine the severity of the mass. Some masses can be large and benign, while others can be small and life threatening and anywhere in between. Sometimes surgical intervention is needed to assure your pet continues on to lead a long, healthy life.
Orthopedic Surgery
For many orthopedic surgeries, we coordinate with a traveling veterinarian as well as referrals to other specialists. Common orthopedic pet surgeries include bone fracture repair, cruciate ligament repair, extracapsular and TPLO techniques, leg or toe amputation, patellar luxation repair, and surgeries to treat hip dysplasia, including femoral head ostectomy (FHO).
